About Firebrats:
Fire brats are similar to silverfish in appearance, yet smaller dull-gray, and about 1/2“ long full grown. They survive best in hot moist areas, and prefer a dark moist with starchy foods or molds to feed upon.
Where to look for Firebrats:
Firebrats prefer temperatures above 100 degrees, and are often found in boiler rooms, bakeries, around ovens, hot water heaters, and pipes if inside. They will follow the piping to the lower rooms seeking out a dark place to nest.
Self Treatment Control for Fire Brats:
Ensure you seal all cracks and crevices in the home or building. Keep the area free of moisture and avoid excessive heat above 100 degrees.
